Renata's Class
February
Renata's 6th Class have been busy this month making films for our PIE activity with the school's cool Tuffcams. You may have seen some strange costumes and face paint over the last few weeks, now you know why! We have also started weaving thanks to Muireann. Who knew how easy it could be? Our Winter Market in December was a fantastic success. Thanks to everyone who came and bought our products or even just had a look. We had a brilliant time making and selling. We raised over €200, which will go towards paying for our school tour this year. Thank you all so much for supporting us. Also thanks to Muireann for organising it, to Mary for facilitating it, Willy for carrying tables, Deirdre for helping with change and to Renata, Denise and Isobel who also helped us. Our PIE Programme is proving to be a great success and we hope the 5th classes are looking forward to the experience next year! We are really enjoying our final year in Castaheany ETNS.

Muireann's Class
February
Welcome to 6th Class! We have been very busy in 2012. We are studying World War 1 in SESE and have created letters from individuals involved in the war. Come and take a look at them on our corridor if you get a chance.
We are still enjoying our PIE programme every week and we are delighted to be creating our own movies on Tuffcams. Thanks to Renata for organising all of this. We look forward to showing our films at our graduation evening!
During January we were given the opportunity to have visitors from Froebel Tecaher Training College. These teachers explored stories about ethics and the environment with us. It was very interesting to explore the different thoughts and ideas all of our class had on the different topics.
We are also studying a new class novel this month by a new Irish author, Maura Byrne. The novel is called Bridget in Werewolf Rehab and is very funny. We are going to have the opportunity to meet the author and the illustrator; Matt Ryder, in March. We can't wait!
Slán,
Rang a Sé agus Muireann.
