Comenius Project
What is it?

The Comenius programme is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme, an EU-funded education and training programme.

The Comenius Programme is aimed at groups/ persons such as:

• Pupils in school to the end of upper secondary education (covering nursery, primary and secondary schooling including technical and vocational education)
• Schools, as specified by member states.
• Teachers and other staff within those schools.
• Associations, non-profit organisations, NGOs and representatives of those involved in school education.

The main specific objectives of the Comenius programme are to:

• Improve the mobility of pupils and educational staff in the countries involved.
• Encourage the learning of modern foreign languages.
• Support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, teaching methods and practice for lifelong learning.

December 2010
The School worked on a project all about Denmark. We had display boards in the foyer during the month of December to show lots of interesting facts about Denmark.

"Our School"

The children and teachers prepared a whole school project about "Our School".
This project was presented to our partner schools in Denmark, Wales and Germany.

November 2011
Our partner schools came to visit us! We were so delighted to finally meet them. Our guests visited our classrooms and our other school facilities. 6th Class gave them a tour all around the school and answered all their questions about Educate Together, Irish Education and our school ethos. They attended a student council meeting. They also joined us at our annual Food Night. This gave a visitors an opportunity to meet our wonderful parent body.
