Welcome to Senior Infants. We have two Senior Infant classes this year. Their teachers are Marian and Claire.
January-March Update
Marian's Class
Marian's class made yummy pancakes on Friday 12th February. We also learned a rhyme about pancakes.
Mix a pancake,
Stir a pancake,
Pop it in a pan,
Fry the pancake,
Toss the pancake
Catch it if you can!
We also learned all about our teeth. We learned that sugar and sugary foods are bad for us and that we should only eat them rarely. We learned how to brush our teeth properly. We learned The Winning Smile Rap to remind us how to take care of our teeth.
Use flouride toothpaste the size of a pea,
Use a good brush, are you listening to me
Brush for three minutes the length of a song.
Brush morning and night and you can't go wrong!
Ask any Senior Infant to say this rhyme for you! Marian

April Update
This month, Marian's class have been learning all about minibeasts. To begin with, we were all a little bit afraid of the little bugs and insect, but having spent some time learning about many different types, we now know there is nothing to be afraid of. We read the story "If Only". It was about a caterpillar who wanted to be like the other bugs and insects until he became a colourful butterfly. We even wrote our own stories about minibeasts. Ihab showed us a book about minibeasts that he borrowed from the library. On Thursday 22nd April, we headed off on a Minibeast Hunt to the green behind Ongar House. We used pooters to collect minibeasts. We found snails, spiders, ladybirds, flies and lots of slugs! It was fun to get down and dirty to meet the little bugs. Thanks to Stephen, Annie, Reiko and Shabana who all helped out!
